The Hidden Forest Wildlife Sanctuary is a forever home for various wildlife species near Ballito, KZN. Its mission is to educate and foster greater understanding of wildlife and the threats and challenges they are facing. Visit The Hidden Forest hiddenforest.co.za.
Visitors are transported on safari vehicles from our reception site to our “hidden forest” where they will be met by their guide. On the guided walk of our forest, which takes approximately one hour, visitors will learn about our species’ unique behaviours and characteristics and the threats and challenges they face in the wild and in captivity. Tours are offered in English and depart from our reception every half hour, so make sure to book your spot and arrive at least 15 minutes before departure.
The Hidden Forest Wildlife Sanctuary is an all-weather facility, we are open rain or shine. If it rains, you will get wet, but we will be open. We recommend long pants, comfortable walking shoes, and mosquito repellent. There is a gift shop, children’s jungle gym, toilet facilities, prayer room and licensed pizza restaurant at the reception area.

Transport to and from The Hidden Forest in an open top vehicle. Please make arrangements with The Hidden Forest as to when you would like to take your tour, it does not have to be on the same day as the Litchi Picking

Important Information
The Litchi picking Festival will start around the 16th of December (When the Litchis are ripe) and will finish when the litchis run out (roughly 2 weeks).
We are an all-weather festival - come rain or shine, we are open.
Bring your hat and sunscreen! - It’s going to be hot!
Bring your raincoat and your gumboots, it is raining!
Comfortable walking shoes are advised.

Halaal food and beverages on sale at the orchard.
No bags or cooler boxes allowed.
A Parking area has been allocated close to the Orchard.
Catch a tractor ride from the parking to the entrance, and let the picking begin!
